Child Choking Warning / Product Recall
Congito, manufacturer of popular water bottles has issued a recall on its “Kids Cleanable Water Bottles” with black bases. They were sold at Target, Walmart and Costco between April 2018 and February 2020. There are three different sizes within the recall- 13, 14 and 20 ounce. According to Contigo, this product can cause serious harm because the clear silicone spout can detach and become a choking hazard.
Contigo recalled the item on February 19, 2020. There are approximately 5.7 million of the bottles on the market. People are urged to stop using the bottle immediately. There have been 427 reports of detachment with 27 of those ending up in a child’s mouth.
